Online Personal Training for Posture & Alignment
Stand Taller. Move Better. Feel Better.
As we get older, the way we hold and move our bodies can start to change.
Maybe you’ve noticed your shoulders rounding forward, your head sitting further in front of your body, or that you don’t feel quite as tall and open as you used to.
You may spend more time sitting, have areas that feel stiff or weak, or simply notice that your posture isn’t what it used to be.
But these changes aren’t something you just have to accept after 50.
With the right combination of strength, mobility and movement training, we can work on how you hold yourself, how you move and how your body feels throughout your day.

Why Posture Can Change After 50
Maybe you’ve started noticing that you don’t stand quite as tall as you used to. Your shoulders sit further forward, your upper back feels stiff, or you find yourself leaning over when you’re standing or walking.
For many adults over 50, years of sitting, working at a desk, driving, looking down at phones and simply moving less can start to affect how the body holds itself.
And it’s not just about how you look. Posture can affect how comfortably you move, how your body feels and even how you feel about yourself. When you feel collapsed or uncomfortable in your body, it can affect your confidence, energy and emotional state.
The good news is that posture isn’t fixed.
Your body can learn new movement patterns. By strengthening the muscles that support good alignment, improving mobility where you’re restricted and becoming more aware of how you move, we can help you stand taller, move with greater ease and feel more confident in your body.

Feel Stronger in the Way You Carry Yourself
Most people don’t come to me because they want perfect posture. They want to feel better in their body and feel more confident in the way they carry themselves.
Maybe you’ve noticed yourself becoming more rounded or stiff, or you don’t feel as strong and open as you used to. Sometimes it’s not even something you consciously think about—you just don’t feel quite as good in your body.
I love seeing what happens when that starts to change. When someone begins to stand a little taller, move more freely and feel stronger, you can often see the difference in how they carry themselves.
And it can go beyond the physical. Feeling more comfortable and capable in your body can change how you show up in your everyday life.
That’s what we’re really working toward—not perfect posture, but feeling good in the body you’re living your life in.

Hi, I'm Katie
I’ve been helping people feel stronger, healthier and better in their bodies for more than 25 years.
I’m a personal trainer and Certified Holistic Nutritionist, with a degree in kinesiology, a certification in yoga and a long-standing study of Pilates and movement practices.
I actually started my career volunteering at a cardiac rehabilitation centre at McMaster University. It was there that I first learned how different training can be for adults over 50—and how important it is to understand the person in front of you rather than simply follow a workout plan.
Over the years, I’ve worked with people at different stages of life, with different bodies, abilities and needs. My approach has always been to look at the whole person and understand what will help them move and feel better.
With posture, that means looking beyond simply telling you to “stand up straight.” We work on the strength, mobility, movement patterns and body awareness that support the way you carry yourself.
And because we work one-to-one, I can adapt your training to what your body needs and help you make changes that carry into your everyday life.

Posture & Alignment — Frequently Asked Questions
Can I improve my posture after 50?
Yes. Posture can change as you get older, but your body is still capable of adapting. Building strength, improving mobility and becoming more aware of how you move can all help you stand and move with greater ease.
Can you help if I’ve had poor posture for years?
Absolutely. We’ll start with where you are now rather than trying to force your body into a particular position. The goal is to gradually build the strength, mobility and awareness that support better alignment.
Will posture training help with neck or back discomfort?
It can, depending on what’s contributing to your discomfort. We can work on strength, mobility and movement patterns that may be affecting how your body feels. If your pain requires assessment outside my scope, I’ll recommend the appropriate healthcare professional.
Do I need to constantly think about sitting up straight?
No. The goal isn’t to spend your day reminding yourself to have good posture. We want to build the strength, mobility and body awareness that make better movement feel more natural.
Can posture affect confidence?
It can. The way you carry yourself can influence how you feel in your body, and feeling stronger and more comfortable physically can have an impact on confidence and how you show up in your everyday life.
Can you help with more than just posture?
Absolutely. Posture can be the starting point, not the whole conversation. As your personal trainer and wellness coach, I can help you look at the bigger picture of your health and wellbeing and work toward the changes that matter to you.
